The standards that keep Carbon Alliance useful, transparent, and safe for people navigating the AI era.
Be useful and specific
Share concrete experiences, workflow details, tool limitations, pricing changes, and context that helps other people make better AI decisions.
When posting reviews or comparisons, explain the scenario tested, the outcome, and any constraints that affected your result.
Disclose AI assistance
AI-assisted contributions are allowed when clearly labeled and reviewed by the author before posting.
Do not use AI to impersonate a person, create fake testimonials, inflate engagement, or hide sponsorship or conflicts of interest.
Respect people
Harassment, hateful conduct, threats, sexual exploitation, doxxing, stalking, and attacks on protected characteristics are not allowed.
Critique tools, workflows, and claims directly without targeting people or encouraging dogpiling.
Protect integrity
Do not manipulate votes, reviews, scores, reports, search results, or moderation systems.
Do not post spam, malware, phishing links, credential theft attempts, undisclosed affiliate farming, or irrelevant promotional content.
Use reporting and appeals
Use report links on posts, comments, reviews, and public profiles when you see policy issues.
Appeals should explain what decision is being challenged and provide any context that a different operator should review.
Moderation expectations
Emergency safety reports should receive priority review, ordinary reports should enter the moderation queue, and appeals should be reviewed independently when possible.
Moderator actions should include decision notes and remain traceable for audit purposes.
